Tony @Sling , Sorry for taking this OT. Did not intend to post a bug but I thought it was related.
Here are the two XML files for
3e937153-c39b-41ed-0e07-a0b27d6c6849

info.xml

info.xml

It looks like AM is writing duplicate xml files because the
"C:\Users\Keith\Air Manager BETA\instruments\OPEN_DIRECTORY" has only one entry for 3e937153-c39b-41ed-0e07-a0b27d6c6849

Hope that assists.

Keith
What is the exact path for both info.xml files?
The only thing I can think of is that cloning somehow fails, where it will not generate a new UUID.

Hi,

You are probably looking for this XML tag in the info.xml
"<source>PERSONAL</source>"

You could probably make a small python script or so it get that out, and place it into a subfolder or so.
Agree that this is a bit of a hassle. I don't like stripping out stuff from AM, but in this case I don't want multiple systems to organize plugins.

In the long run, it will keep the UI simpler,

Hi,

I am not sure I understand rhe "exact path" you refer to.

Do the images in #11 not help?

I cannot recheck as I deleted the UUID in the OPEN DIRECTORY which deleted the duplicate XML fifes.

I do not remember cloning these two instruments. The only thing I know is that those two instruments were the ones i used in a panel when I was getting CTD . The video stream issue.

Hi,

No, I see three info.xml files with the same UUID inside, but cannot see where those info.xml files are placed.
Windows doesn't seem to show that in the screenshot.

Maybe knowing the folder name might help identify the possible reason.

Hi,

Sorry they were deleted when I deleted the UUID
I did open the UUID folder and there was only 1 xml file. I did not search for the others.

If it happens again I will try and fined them and revert.

Hi,

My assumption is still that you manually copy/pasted some folders.
AM doesn't just make new folders. Only when creating a new plugin or cloning. Will check the cloning stuff today.

Let me know if the problem comes back,

I can’t mess around with stuff outside of AM for this it needs to be shown in the AM gui. I’ll use it some more but right now it’s causing me bigger problems than it solves. I love the grouping but hate the loss of personal tag. What a dilemma. I might just stay with 4.1 until there is a better solution if it doesn’t work for me.
