AM 5 beta No instrument list in Home window
No longer can you expand the list of instruments used in the panels listed in the home window. I found this feature very helpful as I use the same instruments with different versions and different names to test the panels.

Yes, mentioned here by Tony, in the middle of the post : https://siminnovations.com/forums/viewt ... 892#p60892FlightEngineer1 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 05, 2024 9:57 am No longer can you expand the list of instruments used in the panels listed in the home window. That is still possible.

Hi,
You can right click on any instrument in the panel layout to reveal its settings.
I deliberately removed the instrument list, since I felt it is not of interest for most people.

Not sure if I understand properly @Ralph
As we see in AM 5.0 BETA (at least until BETA 3), it's currently not possible to expand an instrument list from the Panels presents in Home tab, there's actually not any one available. We are only allowed to edit each single instrument size and pos, one by one

For real this feature is lacking and is very interesting for fast and efficient arrangement in the panel

Hi,
Question here is: is there is a reason to reorder the instruments, other then wanting to change the Z order in which the instruments are drawn.

I usually build panels in the Home view and then import the layout to the Development view. Since my instruments look the same even though they have different names, I could always see which version was currently on the screen in the drop-down list. I could also quickly change the order, which is particularly useful for dim functions.

+1 @Corjan
+1 @FlightEngineer1
It's also more practical to use left mouse click on each single instrument and access straight forward to its size and location settings, in place of using something which is becoming intensive usage through AM BETA 5 : the right mouse click ... always counter intuitive in all existing area
We're also missing a lot the ability to move and resize instruments visually, which should indeed be enhanced, by displaying a temporary visual overlay showing size and placement values which may disappear after a short delay at the end of resizing and/or moving.

Yeah, in the development tab, I can see the reason to be able to set the order. Order can be important there.FlightEngineer1 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 05, 2024 10:06 pm I usually build panels in the Home view and then import the layout to the Development view. Still want to update the panel layout in the Development tab, similar to the home tab. That way you shouldn't have to move back and forth between home and development tabs.
