AM 5.0.4

an issue I've seen a few times already, though not easy to catch and to show easily as well
I would have made a video capture to better show, as it's a visual glitch which occurs occasionally, however I have currently the capture not working
So, just made a Paint.Net .pdn file with two layers, just uncheck/check alternatively the first one on top of the other, to see the effect simulated (only mimic what's occurring quicker for real). Anyway both captured layers are performed while the issue is running

The issue is : in dev mode, the instrument list in the left pane, is triggering an alternate scrollbar show/hide synced to the mouse cursor moving over the left pane
This is intermittent and disappeared while writing this post, so it could be focusing related ... maybe ?

This produce an unwanted flickering effect, for which I don't know what are the conditions to trigger the issue ...

That happens when it is on the edge of 'fitting' and not 'fitting'. It's a UI thing, we can't really fix that.

Thanks @Ralph for the clarification, I would rather have thought has it occurs when the mouse cursor is already over the area, the state would have been stored in a variable/flag saying : "hey I know if it fit or not and then don't change while I'm (the cursor) already over" ... (though there could be open source library behind this, for which no one have hands on)
Anyway, I guess we have to live with it, not the major issue, let's go ahead

Some issues with users properties not working in dev mode with the beta were reported and i thought fixed but discovered this one today.

user_prop_add_real() when used on a panel running in dev mode does not return the number entered in the user property to the script.

Also noticed that the ability to clear the map cache and persistence settings has been removed. These were at times useful.

Yes Cache has been removed. Why I do not know. was there in beta.
The persistence is still there. <Settings> top right next to "Open Log"

Hi,

Cursor left does not work for dials and switches in layers. This is true for mouse setting as well.
I have not checked the other cursors. Will revert if I find any issues.

Yes Cache has been removed. Why I do not know. was there in beta.

Thanks Keith. Missed the persistence at the top. Was looking in amongst the actual settings where it has always been. Not a big fan of the new UI and never am when the user base gets used to where things are and a UI chsnge comes and jumbles it up with no benefit as I see it. Just frustration while you learn where things are all over again and also realise some of the things you used a lot from the last version are now gone.

highlighting of every instance of matching selected text in the editor and flashing the search box red when there are no matching results are a couple of massive things I’m really missing.

If it wasn’t for MSFS 2024 compatibility I’d be back to 4.2.12 in a shot. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it.

Figured I'd document this here in case other folks run into this problem (Ralph is already aware); AM 5.x doesn't seem to be able to subscribe to LVars at all against P3Dv5:

(left is SPAD.neXt, right is AM 5.x)

This is an evolution of an earlier bug, AM 4.x subscribing to P3Dv5 LVars, but only intermittently relaying correct values:

Again got CTD in AM 5.0.4
Mostly happens after adding an instrument from the Store, then browsing through the instruments list in Dev mode, using scrollbars in the left pane
