Air Manager - Monitors display minimal specs & requirement

#1 Post by SimPassion »

Hi @Ralph, just browsed in the wiki for AM specs and not found the specs like the monitor display minimal resolution AM in able to handle !?
Following a user request on x-plane.org, I've made some testing trying to fit a panel on my VRinsight CDU II screen which is a buil-in 1024 x 768 small monitor.
Not found a solution to fit the panel to be added straight forward, were all instrument will be re disposed and re scaled by themselves as we are use too, so I'm wondering if AM bring a default lower resolution & spec limit under which it will not allow to fit the panel automatically ???

Here's what we get from a sample panel :

Related monitor is #2 for the testing purpose :

You would have to use the scaling option, but it isn't recommended. It is better to start a new panel. Or if you have a layout then select the correct monitor from the start.

This is exactly the second statement we used, however this didn't made the panel to fit the whole monitor as shown in the screenshot
We made many attempts and didn't found a proper way , further the auto-fit/scaling works with different monitors size, like 1920 x 1080 or 2560 x 1440 and adding to one or the other make the auto-fit perfectly well, so again my question : why this doesn't work with resolution like 1024 x 768 ???

Then maybe the scaling is set incorrect. There are loads of people with 1024x768 screens, and we use them ourselves as well. There's no limit on pixels whatsoever.

Sorry Ralph, however we don't need at all to get interested in scaling while adding panels on monitors with 1920 x 1080 or with 2560 x 1440 for example, as already mentioned, these resolutions doesn't make any difference, the panel will auto-fit directly, without any visual issue, so I don't get the point. AM permit this by default, so why is this an issue with 1024 x 768 resolution ?

I mean the Windows/OS scaling.

".../...we don't need at all to get interested in scaling while adding panels on monitors with 1920 x 1080 or with 2560 x 1440 for example.../..."

I put again my statement which is a truth for AM behavior
I don't get the suggested workaround as a solution to this issue. We need for real an understanding why it doesn't work as expected for 1024 x 768 resolution

Maybe something in the GPU software. In any case, nothing in Air Manager itself, or we would have heard about it all the time. And I have used all sorts of resolutions, even down to 320x240.

in which you had put a whole default 1920 x 1080 panel which had fit nicely automatically ?
